08:57 pm - Random Encounters
Last night Adam didn't run our Eberron campaign - instead we rolled random characters and Andrew ran us through a rather abbreviated Sunless Citadel. And I mean entirely random, the chart included every playable race and class contained in all of WotC's published supplements.
It worked out to a surprisingly balanced party. We had: my character, a dreamdwarf hexblade - Races of Stone/Complete Warrior, a changeling wilder - Eberron Campaign Setting/Expanded Psionics, a goblin spirit shaman - Monster Manual/Complete Divine, and a whispergnome wu jen - Races of Stone/Oriental Adventures.
Bizzare, but effective enough. At least this time we made it past the initial dire rat encounter. We beat up the baby white dragon and brought it back to Mempo, knocked goblins around, and escaped the quasit. Then we found a sealed sarcophagus that the changeling and gnome thought would be a good idea to open. After initial refusal, I, being he only one strong enough to force it open, gave in to their wheedling, and pried the lid off. The troll within promptly attacked, and we of course fled, but not before it slaughtered the wilder, alas. It was fun while it lasted, and gave us all a chance to play things we'd never played before. We ended at that point, as Sunless Citadel isn't really short enough to run as a one-shot. My having played it with you all before didn't bleed over into my character's actions too much - my memory is too poor to have remembered much anyway. Mostly I remembered things as they happened, and tried not to let it influence my character. I think I did a decent enough job of not screwing up Andrew's running of the game.
I helped E get all her lewt out of this place and into hers, with the aid of James' car. I may not be very bright, but at least I can lift heavy things, as they say. ;) She was quite happy at the size of her closet, of all things. Do not ask me to explain the human mind. I biked over there later in the week to bring her nails and some small things she forgot over here. A good 20 minute ride, since it was sweltering and I didn't really feel like going quickly.
On the way to kung fu yesterday I needed a few groceries, so I stopped on the way at Winn-Dixie for poptarts and stuff. That place sucks, and their poptarts are disgusting. I feel used.

That's a genius idea Boromir had. Wonder why no one else had it. (Fucking retarded, that's why.)
Winn-Dixie sucks less than Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart's cheaper, gets more traffic. (We are still talking stores here??) |
